Man Utd Predict Record Revenues for the 2016/17 Season

Manchester United have predicted a record rise in their annual revenue despite not lifting the Premier League or the Champions League title since 2013.

The Red Devils have also crept past Real Madrid to become the world’s richest club, according to a recent list released by KPMG.

The Mancunian giants were initially hoping to achieve a target of around £530m – £540m on revenues, but they seem to have surpassed the value with a sum close to £560m predicted for the financial year 2016/17. The new Premier League TV deal had had a huge role to play in the profits gained among the England’s elite, and United recorded a bump of 12.9 percent for the quarter to gain £31.4m.

Chief Executive Ed Woodward confirmed the record increase in revenues via a press release where he said: “We are forecasting better full-year financial performance than expected and as such have raised our revenue and profit guidance for the year,” Continue reading Man Utd Predict Record Revenues for the 2016/17 Season

Manchester United first choice goalkeeper David De Gea was reportedly dropped ahead of the club’s game against Sunderland last Sunday.

The Sun reports that the Portuguese tactician criticized him but the ‘talk’ did not go down well. The report claims that was why Mourinho played Sergio Romero during the game against David Moyes’ men instead of the Spaniard.

Mourinho said the keeper had a hip injury but further investigations show that Mourinho had been unhappy with the keeper’s performances. Manchester Evening News claimed that Mourinho alleged that De Gea was ‘sleeping’ in the goalless draw against West Bromich Albion few games back.

“David De Gea was sleeping and he did the funny thing at the end. I was laughing with that,” Mourinho said when the keeper let Darren Fletcher’s effort hit the bar during the game. It seems there was further private criticism that De Gea did not take lightly so a bust up ensured. The bust up likely led to the omission of the 26-year old keeper. Coach of the Red Devils team Jose Mourinho was interviewed by Manchester United Television, after his first press conference at the club.

At the press conference, the Portuguese tactician talked about his immediate plans for the club, especially how he planned on returning the club to winning ways as soon as possible considering the recent history of the great club since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.

Some players are still on holidays following their international commitments at the Euro 2016. The coach said he would start training with the group available pending when the others join in and the pre season plans kicks off fully.

On the style of play he would adopt at the club, Mourinho said it would be different. He admitted that his philosophy was different from that of the former coach Louis van Gaal. He said his game would be vertical and that ball possession would be to aid the being vertical not just for the sake of statistics. He admitted that he would take a lot of risks as he was afraid of them. Continue reading SUMMARY OF MOURINHO’S INTERVIEW WITH MUTV

Louis Van Gaal finding hard to get Support from Young Players

Louis Van Gaal is not understood to have too much of support from the younger section of the players at Manchester United

Most of the younger players have the opinion that the style of coaching offered by Van Gaal is not modern and also, he very rarely looks to communicate with them which makes them feel unrelated to him.

The favourite of the youngsters at the moment is the club’s former player Ryan Giggs as he is the one who often have conversations with them and support them to the fullest.

Giggs is in the Red Devils management team already, but, his role is only of an assistant which, many believe, is not the suitable role for him and he should have been promoted to the manager’s post by now after the team’s not so quick rise under Van Gaal.

The United youngsters also share the same view as they reckon there would be more of a chance of them playing first team Football if Giggs takes charge rather than anyone else.

They are not in support of Jose Mourinho replacing Van Gaal either as having talked to some of their counterparts in the Chelsea camp, they know that the Portuguese’s approach towards the youngsters would not be hugely different and they would be mere bench warmers in his rein too. Andres Iniesta has clearly stated that he is not going to part ways with Barcelona

Andres Iniesta has clearly stated that he is not going to part ways with Barcelona to feature in the Barclays Premier League.

There have been Barcelona players in the past who have turned to England, but, according to Iniesta, there is absolutely no chance of him following the footsteps of some of his former teammates.

In his talk to one of the popular Spanish dailies a few days ago, Iniesta, who is now also the skipper at Camp Nou, said, “The thought of going to EPL has never crossed my mind. As far as I am concerned, Barcelona is the best Football club in the world and I can’t be more happy and satisfied anywhere else.”

“I hope I go on and complete the contract that I have with Barca. That’s what I want.”

Actually since the time Pedro went to Chelsea, the rumours were hot that Iniesta might do something similar before this transfer window shuts down or maybe in the winter.

But, now with Iniesta clearing the air, those rumours would perhaps be put to rest.

Iniesta also talked about his feelings after being handed Barcelona captaincy on a full time basis. Continue reading Andres Iniesta has clearly stated that he is not going to part ways with Barcelona

Manchester United are unlikely to get a number of their injured

Manchester United are unlikely to get a number of their injured stars back for the home match against Aston Villa according to manager Louis Van Gaal. Some of the players like Robin van Persie, Chris Smalling and Radamel Falcao continue to struggle for fitness.

As a result, United have not been held their full complement of players. Van Gaal has been showing in recent weeks while he is regarded as a great tactician. He has managed to overcome the disappointment of having keynames injured on the sidelines and has propelled United four successive victories in the league.

A fifth consecutive victory will see them overtake Manchester City – at least until Monday when Pellegrini’s team play against Crystal Palace – in the league. This will also spark hopes of a title with seven matches left after the tie at Old Trafford on Saturday. Villa will be an unknown quantity to United since they have been looking brilliant in the last few matches after the arrival of Tim Sherwood. The Red Devils had a comfortable victory over Villa in the reverse fixture, but it will be anything as comfortable this time around even though United are at home.Van Gaal has confirmed that the likes of Smalling and van Persie still need more recovery time. Juan Mata wants Club to finish in Top 4

Former Manchester United club record signing, Juan Mata, says that the club should finish in the top four at all costs this campaign.

The Spaniard was speaking after the club suffered a major setback in their efforts to put some distance between them and the chasing pack of Southampton, Arsenal, and Liverpool. United could have done so with a win against Swansea last weekend. However, it was not the case after the Red Devils suffered yet another 2-1 defeat against Gary Monk’s team. Mata did not start the match, but he was brought into the match during the last 11 minutes as United chased an equaliser.

The 26-year-old is not a regular first choice at United, which is surprising considering that he cost £ 37 million from Chelsea just over a year ago. Mata complained a lot about the lack of regular first-team football at Chelsea, but he has been less troublesome at Old Trafford. The former Valencia star has completed the full 90 minutes of action only three times since the start of the year. He did not have much of an impact against Swansea and this is unlikely to see him return to the starting line-up against Sunderland next week. However, Mata wants to be a team player right now and he has spoken about the importance of Champions League for the club. Continue reading Juan Mata wants Club to finish in Top 4
