UNITED START PRE-SEASON WITH LIVERPOOL CLASH

Manchester United will begin their pre-season campaign this summer with a high-profile game against arch rivals Liverpool on their tour of Asian nation Thailand. It would be the first game for new manager Erik Ten Hag. Manchester United on TV is expected to be a feature for the said Liverpool game. The Red Devils would be hoping to avenge the two defeats suffered at the hands of Liverpool in the league last season.

Liverpool did the double on Manchester United in the league last season. Manchester United on TV was a feature for the two games as the Red Devils failed to score a single goal while conceding nine goals. In their first league meeting of the season, Egyptian international Mohamed Salah became the first opposition player to score a hat-trick against Manchester United at Old Trafford on the way to a 5-0 win. Naby Keita and Diogo Jota were also on target for the Merseyside team.

For the second league meeting last season, Liverpool scored four goals without any reply from Manchester United. Salah took his tally to five goals in two league outings with a brace, while fellow attackers Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane were also on target for the Reds.

Manchester United on TV would be a feature when Liverpool and Manchester United battle it out in pre-season on July 12. The game would be played at the Rajamangala Stadium in the Thailand capital city of Bangkok. The Red Devils would then go on to face Melbourne City, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa for the Australia part of their pre-season tour. The games against Melbourne City and Crystal Palace will take place in Melbourne, while the game against Villa will hold in Perth. Manchester United will take on Atletico Madrid in Oslo on July 30 for their penultimate pre-season game before rounding up with the Rayo Vallecano game at the Theatre of Dreams.
