MAN UNITED UP TO SECOND

Manchester United pressed home their status as Premier League title challengers for this season after securing a late win over stubborn Wolverhampton Wanderers in their latest league clash. Manchester United on TV was a feature during the latest set of Matchday 16 games played on Tuesday night and it ended with a slim win over Wolves at home.

Millions of fans around the world saw Manchester United on TV as the Red Devils closed the gap on league leaders and fierce rivals Liverpool with a 1-0 victory that was secured in added time. Those fans saw Manchester United on TV as England international Marcus Rashford scored the only goal of the game after receiving the pass from playmaker Bruno Fernandes. His shot took a deflection to hit the back of the net two minutes into added time for the only goal of the game.

Manchester United were able to win the game at the expense of their visitors who gave a good account of themselves and were unlucky not to come away from Old Trafford with a share of the points. Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his players showed during the Wolves game that they are ready to secure the points even when they are not playing well. This attribute is definitely a sign of champions though Liverpool will still have plenty to say about this. For now, Manchester United have moved above the likes of Everton and Leicester City to secure second spot on the league standings. The Red Devils have a total of 30 points from their 15 league outings in the current campaign, while Liverpool are two points clear of them having played the same number of games. Liverpool have the opportunity to stretch their lead when they travel to St. James Park to take on hosts Newcastle United on Wednesday night.
